Inserting numbered headings

Creating numbered headings in Flare is just a matter of using the right style. First you have to set up style in your style sheet.

To set up auto-numbering for headings:

  1. Open the stylesheet you’re working in.
  2. Click in the Stylesheet Editor to open the advanced editor view.
  3. On the left side of the window, select the heading that you want to grant auto-numbering. You can also create a new heading style when needed.
  4. On the right side of the window, select the Auto-number group of properties.
  5. Click mc-auto-number-format.
    This dialog box opens:

  6. Choose which auto-numbering format you want.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Save all.

Auto-numbering formats

You can add as many auto-numbered headings as you want. We’ll give you a few examples:

Style Auto-number code
Header 1 (h1) {chapnum} 1
Header 2 (h2) CH:{chapnum}.{n+}.{ =0} 1.1
Header 3 (h3) CH:{chapnum}.{n}.{n+} 1.1.1
