Numbers

In Dutch

The decimal point: always write a comma, e.g. 99,50 EUR; 37,75 kg

Numbers in digits: group with a fixed space (non-breaking space), e.g. 33 925 inwoners; 1 000 000 EUR

Also keep a fixed space between number and unit (such as EUR, kg, etc.)

To insert a fixed space:

Program Shortcut key
FrameMaker Ctrl + spacebar
Word Ctrl + shift + spacebar

In English

The decimal point: officially the British use a comma, e.g. 99,50 EUR; 37,75 kg, but a point is common practice (especially in the US), so 99.50 USD; 37.75 lbs.

Numbers in digits: group with a fixed space (non-breaking space), e.g. 33 925 inhabitants; 1 000 000 USD
